These 课程 are designed for adults with developmental and/or intellectual differences who have an interest in finding realistic and meaningful employment. 其中很多 课程 are also appropriate for students with “hidden” differences including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, etc. (speak to your DSPS counselor for options). It is recommended that students have a working knowledge of basic English reading and 写作技巧.

The Workplace Employability Skills Certificate Program is designed for students who want to learn more about desirable soft skills, working relationships, and how to identify self-advocacy skills and their rights in the workplace. Students must receive at least 70% in both classes in order to receive a certificate.

Required 课程 (complete 课程 in this order):

  • DSPS 1003 Social Skills on the Job 
    In this course you will identify successful soft skills that all employers want and learn strategies to deal appropriately in interactions with your co-workers, supervisors, 和客户.
  • DSPS 1004 Self Advocacy and Your Rights 4 weeks 
    In this course you will identify self-advocacy skills as you learn about assertiveness training and conflict resolution, examine stress triggers and discover coping strategies, and explore your rights in a workplace environment.

A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful completion of all required 课程.
